Stage your own Comic murder mystery event!

  • Cross My Art and Hope To Die!

The Ultimate Battle of ‘Good versus Easel’!

A murderous cloud hovers above Beresford Mange, one which has totally eclipsed its local art gallery… yes, there’s been ‘A Total Eclipse of the Art!’

‘Sharksy’, the world’s most famous graffiti artist, makes an unexpected visit to the remote village to present his latest masterpiece, ‘the Girl with the Pearl Hearing Aid’. Yet why the secretive spray-painter would choose such a location for the unveiling remains a mystery. But then again, where Sharksy’s concerned, the public have long been ‘primed’… to expect the unexpected! Yet when his body is discovered floating inside one of the gallery’s exhibits (a tank of formaldehyde used to display a dead turkey) four suspects are quickly rounded up and asked to explain ‘Henry Moore’…

So which of them combined to commit a murder carved out more intricately than Michelangelo’s ‘David’? Could it be…

‘Titania Pippett’, the gallery’s proprietor?

(Moaner) ‘Lisa Santiago’, the gallery’s 'artist in residence'?

‘Wayne Baldock’, a local security guard? Or…

‘Mukk Raker’, a newspaper reporter for ‘the Beresford Mange Trumpet’.

Police Constable ‘Joan/Jonathan Constable’ invites you to come along and take your ‘Pick-asso’…

‘Cross My Art and Hope to Die!’ is a comic romp which generates humour at the expense of both ‘modern art’ and the artworld in general. In what rapidly becomes a ‘Clash of the Titians’ the final outcome is guaranteed to create ‘A Bigger Splash!’.

The two-act piece has 5 characters, 2M/2F plus 1 of either, and an approximate running time 60 minutes. All of the characters have significant roles.

‘Cross My Art and Hope to Die!’ is the Mystery Short/Courtroom Drama-style version of the full-length murderplays’ piece ‘Who Killed the Graffiti Artist?’.
