Something strange is ‘Irn-Brewing’ in this café-based whodunit where ‘fowl’ deeds are ‘on the menu’.

One of muderplays’ shortest Shorts, the action takes place at the Crusty Bun Café in Sewerton Mumps. ‘Beth Sellas’ is the world-famous writer of the Crystal Bullett whodunit series for teenagers. At the request of Sewerton’s High School, she’s returning to her hometown to host a talk about her writing. Arriving early, however, the famous author drops into the Crusty Bun Café, to kill time. Doing so, however, sees her fall prey to a terrible crime. When the laptop containing her upcoming novel is stolen, the ‘Cadbury’s Chocolate Finger’ of suspicion points towards the café’s cast of regulars...

‘Walter Melon’, an old-timer who likes nothing more than spending a quiet afternoon in the café with a bowl of ‘porridge’ and a good book.

With the imminent threat of the café’s owner, ‘Mad’ Tommy Gunn, being released from prison, detective Sam Manella is under pressure to ‘Call Time’ on the case before it all starts to ‘rhubarb crumble’!
